Financial wellness is the key to family security, a sense of well being, and very importantly mission readiness. Everyone would do well to formulate a personal financial plan. Our quality of life depends upon how well we manage our resources. Given the same amount of income, one family unit will enjoy a higher lifestyle than a similar family unit.
This observation is not based on appearances of what they have. This is usually a temporary affair with consumerism. One of our major concerns is the use of predatory lenders. They are targeting young military families, entrapping them in lending schemes that ultimately strip them of their hard-earned pay. Unfortunately one in five active-duty military personnel were payday borrowers in 2006. Predatory payday lending costs these military families over $80 million in abusive lending fees every year.
The PFM program is committed to educating members and their families on the importance of engaging in and managing their personal financial resources resulting in a more secure future. For more information, contact us to get the ball rolling!
