The Dyess Youth Before and After School Program (ages 5 to 12) is designed to support working parents of children who would otherwise have to stay alone and give children a constructive outlet.

The program runs Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. (Before School Program) and 3 to 6 p.m. (After School Program) and features safe, age appropriate activities and opportunities. These activities focus on building skills for life which promote social, physical, cognitive development which help deal with changes and promote self esteem. Activities that happen on a daily basis are: arts/crafts, computers, woodworking, scrap booking, cooking classes and power hour (homework). All children enrolled in this program are transported to & from Dyess and Bassetti Elementary Schools and Clack Middle School (AM only).

The School-age Program’s priority placement policy is established in accordance with Department of Defense directives. The policy provides priority placement on a "first come, first serve" basis to parents in the following categories:

  1. Priority 1 - Single / Dual Active Duty or Single / Dual DoD Civilian assigned to Dyess AFB.

  2. Priority 2 - Active Duty or DoD Civilian with full-time employed spouse assigned to Dyess AFB.
Note:  Full-time student (12 semester hours during school year or 6 during the summer) equals full-time employed status.  Full-time employed spouse must be in a permanent or regular position guaranteed at 20 hours per week (minimum).

  3. Priority 3 - Eligible DoD Contractors with employed spouse assigned to Dyess AFB.

(Full-day Christmas and spring break day camps are scheduled with adjusted parent fees). Need reservation for working parents on UTE/Goal days.

All-day summer day camp is provided for children in Kindergarten and ages 6-12. Throughout the summer, we provide exciting age-appropriate activities/experiences that will enhance your child’s cognitive, physical, mental, and social growth, develop team-building skills and sportsmanship, and help children express themselves creatively through music, drama, arts/crafts with the addition of swimming, picnics, and an expanded field trip program. Camp hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday with a maximum of 10 hours of care per day.
